🔻IRGC Intelligence says it has arrested a group of armed opponents in Fars province
IRGC Intelligence says it has arrested eight armed opponents of the government in Fars province. IRGC Intelligence in Fars published images of several pistols and cold weapons, along with several mobile phones, and identified the suspects as being linked to “royalist” groups. No further details have been released. IRGC Intelligence says the group was “neighborhood-based, procuring weapons and planning to stage killings in possible protests.” In official terminology, the Iranian government calls the killing of some opponents “staged killings” carried out by groups affiliated with the enemies. In its statement, IRGC Intelligence described the nationwide protests of last Dey as a “coup” and said these individuals had an “active presence” in it. The head of Iran’s judiciary has repeatedly asked prosecutors to issue and carry out rulings for the detainees from the protests of last Dey swiftly and without leniency. The United Nations and human rights organizations have expressed concern about the issuance and execution of these rulings, which in some cases involve the death penalty.
