The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that in a missile and drone attack on the Juffair base in Bahrain, it destroyed several arms-support depots, a satellite communications center, and a building used to house U.S. forces—its latest claim about an attack on U.S. positions in the Persian Gulf.
The Bahraini Ministry of the Interior reported early Tuesday that the danger sirens sounded twice, with an interval of about two hours, and asked citizens and residents to remain calm and go to the nearest safe location.
The Juffair area in Manama hosts a U.S. naval base and the headquarters of the Fifth Fleet. The IRGC’s claims about destroying American facilities during the war have often not been supported by independent evidence.
These attacks came after the third consecutive night of U.S. strikes on military targets in coastal cities in Iran.
