🔸Iran Telecom announced that the rates for some communication services in the country will increase by 45% starting Friday, 20 Shahrivar.
🔸According to a notice issued by the company on Wednesday, 18 Shahrivar, the ceiling for landline phone call charges with mobile phone operators will increase from 625 rials to 906 rials.
🔸Iran Telecom said that the financial and revenue impact of this change is not yet clear and will be announced in the company’s periodic financial reports.
🔸The increase in communication tariffs is being implemented as the Central Bank has also recently raised the fees for a number of banking services.
🔸According to the new tariffs, the minimum card-to-card fee for transfers up to one million tomans has increased from 900 to 1,100 tomans, and the fees for other services, including PayA, PayS, card issuance, and certain services related to checks, have also increased.
🔸These cost increases are being carried out while Iran is facing high inflation and a sharp rise in the prices of goods and services. Based on the latest report from the Statistical Center of Iran, Iranian households have, on average, spent 89% more than in last year’s Mordad to purchase a comparable basket of goods and services.
