🔶 Intensification of the United States’ Efforts to Cut Off Revenue Streams of the Iranian Government
The U.S. Department of State, on Friday, September 4 (Shahrivar 13), announced in a statement about new U.S. sanctions against a Turkish bank and two companies affiliated with it for helping the Islamic Republic, saying that Washington remains committed to cutting off the Islamic Republic’s access to the international financial system and to resources that it uses to destabilize the region and threaten the interests and partners of the United States.
The statement refers to an earlier action by the U.S. Treasury Department in the framework of the “maximum pressure” plan, which included the sanctioning of the “Golden Global” bank, based in Turkey.
In its statement, the U.S. Department of State warned that facilitating the unlawful financial activities of the Islamic Republic would have “serious consequences.”
