🔻Houthi officials say Saudi Arabia has attacked points in Yemen
The Houthis say that Saudi Arabia has targeted areas in Yemen with airstrikes.
Saba News Agency, the Houthi news outlet, said that Saudi Arabia “in airstrikes and also by firing cruise missiles targeted points in the governorates of Al-Jawf, Al-Bayda, Marib, and Taiz.”
The Houthis have begun operations to seize areas near the strategic Bab al-Mandab strait.
The number of deaths in the fighting between the Houthis and Yemen’s government forces since Thursday, when the Houthi operations began, has reached the hundreds.
The Houthi movement, which calls itself Ansarallah, is an Iranian ally and is fighting Yemeni government forces that are supported by Saudi Arabia.
The Houthis control northern Yemen, the Red Sea coastal strip, and Sana’a, the capital.
The Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, which the international community recognizes, controls eastern Yemen and the southern coastal strip and the port of Aden.
To break Saudi Arabia’s blockade, the Houthis have announced a reciprocal blockade and attack Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea.
