🔸Hanna Neumann, Germany’s representative in the European Parliament, says that four years after the death of Mahsa Amini, the Iranian government is still responding with courage—through prison, bullets, and executions.
🔸Neumann, who spoke in the European Parliament on Tuesday, 24 Shahrivar, on the eve of the fourth anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death, pointed to the suppression of protesters in Iran and said that since then, the Iranian regime has killed, jailed, or forced tens of thousands of young Iranian people to leave their homeland.
🔸The European Parliament lawmaker said: “However, this generation of Iran has transformed it, even if the government has not changed.”
🔸With an emphasis on supporting protesters and the Iranian people, Neumann said: “Our esteemed colleagues may not be able to bring freedom for Iranians from outside Iran, but we must stand alongside those who have put everything at risk to achieve it all.”
🔸She also called for a serious crackdown on the officials of the Islamic Republic and emphasized: “We must expel the agents of the regime. We must confront extra-territorial repression on European soil. Implement the sanctions in full and never forget those who are behind bars and in the execution line.”
