🔶 Financial Times: Russia’s covert assistance to Iran’s missile program
According to a report by the Financial Times, Russia’s covert assistance program to the missile program of the Islamic Republic of Iran, under the codename “C430L,” began in 2023 and was organized by the Russian state arms export company, “Rosoboronexport,” in cooperation with the company “NPO Mashinostroniya.” The company is under U.S. sanctions.
The Financial Times wrote that in 2023 Russian arms-export officials and senior engineers of this company visited Iran several times, and among them were specialists in the design of naval missiles, supersonic ramjet engines, aerodynamics, and ballistic systems.
According to the newspaper, by 2025 the Russian company had received various documents and technical materials from Iran, and after reviewing them, the Russian engineers sent technical questions to the Iranian side.
In correspondence that the Financial Times has seen, Rosoboronexport had in April 2025 proposed sending a delegation of Russian specialists to Iran and asked Tehran to answer the engineers’ questions before this trip.
