Trump endorses a historic nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia; a major achievement for the Saudi kingdom

The agreement could bring huge profits for American companies, but it will likely also raise concerns about the spread of nuclear technology in the Middle East.

According to statements by U.S. government officials, Donald Trump has officially approved a historic agreement with Saudi Arabia under which the country will gain access to a civilian nuclear program and could also pave the way for uranium enrichment on Saudi soil.

This new deal, which will be valid for 30 years, is estimated to be worth the equivalent of tens of billions of dollars. The goal of the agreement is to give a central role to American companies in the development of Saudi Arabia’s nuclear infrastructure while sidelining other foreign competitors from this project.
