A third attempt to impeach US President Donald Trump following the midterm elections to the Congress is virtually inevitable, The Hill reported.

According to the newspaper, much in such a scenario depends on whether the Democrats gain a majority in the upper chamber of Congress, the Senate, which is currently controlled by the Republican Party.

If the current Republican majority there remains in place, the Democrats’ attempt to remove Trump from office could become little more than a formality, and “a fast, failed impeachment may actually help Trump rally his party around him,” The Hill stressed.
