A major fire in the Krokstadelva area, in the city of Drammen in southern Norway, has destroyed more than 100 homes and caused the evacuation of more than 400 people.

The fire, which began yesterday, spread from residential areas to the surrounding forests and has still not been contained.

Around 100 firefighters from different stations, along with armed forces, civil defense organization personnel, and helicopters, are taking part in the firefighting operation.

Several people have been affected by smoke poisoning, but no deaths have been reported so far.
