🔶 Old pattern, new tools; list of judicial extradition of Kurdish activists 🔻 Report by Atfeh Chahar-Mahalyan On 8 Tir 1405, Mehr News Agency reported, citing the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic, that following the formation of judicial cases and the registration of “private” complaints, for a number of leaders and members of Kurdish parties and groups opposed to the Islamic Republic, including PJAK, Komala, the Democratic Party, and the PAK Party, judicial rulings and Interpol red notices have been issued, and requests for their extradition have been sent to the countries where they reside. According to this report, the extradition requests and judicial cooperation of these individuals have been sent to the Iraqi government and, in some cases, to European countries including Germany, France, Belgium, and Sweden. This is not the first time the Islamic Republic has sought the pursuit and extradition of activists and leaders of Kurdish parties opposed to it. In Tir 1403 as well, international media reported that Tehran had submitted a list including about 120 members and leaders of Iranian Kurdish parties to the Iraqi government “within the framework of a security agreement between Iran and Iraq,” and requested their detention and extradition. However, to date, no independent confirmation has been published by Interpol regarding the issuance of red notices for the individuals named in the new list. Persian-language Deutsche Welle has spoken with Abdullah Mohtadi, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Komala Party of Iran, and Zeyla Mostajer, Director of the Hangaw Human Rights Organization, about this.
