🔶 Increase in Saudi Arabia’s oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz after the Iran–US agreement Saudi Arabia has sharply increased its oil exports through this vital waterway after signing a memorandum between Tehran and Washington in June, one of the aims of which was the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. According to data from the commercial information company Kpler, Saudi Arabia has exported 34 million barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz since June 17. As a result, the country’s oil exports through this waterway have more than doubled. Saudi Arabia’s oil exports from March 9 to June 17 (18 Esfand to 27 Khordad) totaled more than 15 million barrels. Based on data from this company, most of Saudi Arabia’s recent exports are related to oil that had been loaded before the start of the war between the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, or during it, and the country is now offloading oil tankers that, due to the fighting, were unable to leave the Persian Gulf. In Kpler’s assessment, about 17 million barrels of Saudi oil that had been loaded before the war are still making their way around the Persian Gulf.
