🔺US CENTCOM commander traveled to Saudi Arabia for an emergency meeting

▪The commander of the U.S. Central Command, CENTCOM, traveled to Saudi Arabia to hold urgent coordination meetings. Axios reported that Brad Cooper went to Saudi Arabia on Thursday.

▪A senior Trump administration official told Axios that the United States continues to focus on protecting its core interests, including freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, while also preferring that the country’s regional partners play the main role in managing the region’s security challenges.

▪A U.S. official also told Axios that the Trump administration would provide information to Riyadh about the Houthis and target designation, but at this stage direct military intervention is not on the agenda.
