🔺 UN Secretary-General travels to Syria for the first time since the start of the civil war

▪ Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, arrived in Damascus on Saturday, 3 Mordad, becoming the first head of this international organization to visit the country since the start of Syria’s civil war in 2009. The visit comes as the new Syrian government seeks to rebuild international relations and return to the global community.
