The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center announced on Wednesday, 18 Shahrivar, that a tanker had been targeted with an unidentified projectile in the southeastern 28 nautical miles of the port of Faw, Iraq.

According to this report, the tanker’s captain reported that the projectile struck the vessel. The tanker’s crew are safe, and so far no environmental consequences resulting from this attack have been reported.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations Center added that authorities are investigating the incident and asked ships to exercise caution when transiting the area and to report any suspicious activity.

Earlier, the center had also reported the targeting of a vessel in the 24 nautical miles northwest of the port of Rashid in Dubai with an unidentified projectile.
