The number of ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz at the start of the week has fallen again.
Based on data from the shipping company Kpler, on Monday only four cargo ships passed through the waterway, while the day before seven ships had transited it.
At the same time, the Greek shipping company Danaecom Tankers said that two vessels under its management were targeted by projectiles of unknown origin near the coasts of Oman on Monday. A third tanker from the same company was targeted by a drone at the Novorossiysk terminal in Russia’s Black Sea.
The Yemen’s Houthi group also announced on Monday that it is imposing a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia; an action that could expand disruptions to energy supplies beyond the Persian Gulf.
