New York is marking the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks with memorial events.
The main commemoration ceremony is being held at the site, where the Twin Towers once stood. In accordance with tradition, relatives of the victims are reading out the names of those who lost their lives in the 2001 terrorist attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. In 2026, a seventh moment of silence was added to the traditional six, honoring those who died later from illnesses linked to the attacks.
