Mohammadreza Aref, First Vice President of Pezeshkian, announced in a meeting with members of the Seminary Teachers’ Society in Qom that the Islamic Republic’s security surveillance “filtering” has been eliminated.

The First Vice President said: “While we should be able to gain control over cyberspace and manage it, filtering destroys our security oversight, and in the recent wars we have also been hit by this issue.”

Mohammadreza Aref also added: “The approach of technology sanctions does not work. The internet is like a highway; if a car on the highway commits an offense, should we block the entire highway, or should we deal with that offending car?”

He also said about the Special Headquarters for the Organizing and Governance of Cyberspace: this headquarters was formed by an order from Mr. Pezeshkian, as the chairman of the Supreme National Security Council, and in other cases too it has issued instructions from its legal position. One of the goals of forming this headquarters is to complete a full, comprehensive, and up-to-date plan for the national information network.
