🔻Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, referring to the Islamabad understanding between Iran and the United States, says that “if the United States returns to its commitments in the aforementioned understanding, the Islamic Republic of Iran will also immediately carry out reciprocal action.”

The Iranian president, during his speech at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, said: “The United States’ commitment to the document under which the signature of that country’s president was placed lasted less than two weeks.... It is obvious that the violation of the United States’ commitments was met with a proportionate response from Iran.”

Mr. Pezeshkian said: “But I state clearly that if the United States returns to its commitments in the aforementioned understanding, the Islamic Republic of Iran will also immediately carry out reciprocal action.”

In recent weeks, various political and military officials in Iran have repeatedly announced that if the United States returns to the Islamabad agreement and implements its provisions, Iran is also prepared to return to this agreement.
