Majtaba Khamenei, the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, in a message on the occasion of the funeral and burial of Ali Khamenei, the former leader and his father, emphasized that "revenge for the blood" of him and other people killed in the recent wars "is the will of the people" and "must certainly be carried out."

In this message, which was again published in written form on Tir 18, 1405 (July 9, 2026), he, referring to the killing of Ali Khamenei and his companions, wrote: "We pledge that we will take revenge for the pure blood of you and all the martyrs of these two wars from the criminal, dishonorable killers. This revenge is the will of our people and must certainly be carried out."
