Kayhan daily, which is published under the supervision of a representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, wrote in a piece about “the necessity of seeking revenge for the killers of the leadership,”: “Our war with America and Israel is an existential war, in such a way that the identity of our independence and Islam-aspiration is opposed to their identity of domination, arrogance, and atheism; therefore, their survival depends on our death, and our survival depends on their death.”
The daily added: “If today we leave aside the banner of revenge, the problem they have with us will not be resolved, and one day they will come after us again under another pretext. As in the war of 12 or 40 days, talk of revenge was not raised, but they attacked Iran on the pretext of building atomic weapons.”
Kayhan daily added: “Whether we raise the banner of revenge or not, we will have an Ashura-like war with America and Israel. Since that is the case, then it is better to raise this banner and place the enemy under pressure of threats of retaliation and retribution, and through this, to provide some deterrence regarding the enemy’s intent to assassinate the new leader, commanders, and political figures.”
