Hossein Shariatmadari, the managing director of Kayhan newspaper, wrote in a note on Thursday, 12 Shahrivar that the Army and the Revolutionary Guards should use the “levers” to pass through the international fiber-optic cables between the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz in order to “confront America and its allies.”

The managing director of Kayhan newspaper wrote: “In the deep waters of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz lies one of the international fiber-optic highways. A highway through which the most internet connections, international calls, banking transactions, cloud services (iCloud), and even communications for artificial intelligence and data centers pass.”

Hossein Shariatmadari, the representative of Khamenei in Kayhan newspaper, emphasized: “The matter is with the officials of the country, and especially with the Army and the Revolutionary Guards; look carefully! Global internet cables under the waters of the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf are waving at us and, in a thousand languages, saying why you have forgotten our role in this war?”
