Hooman Jowkar and Sepideh Kashani Dost, a friend and a couple of environmental activists who had been detained in Tehran by security forces, have been released. At the same time, Seema Kashani Dost, Sepideh’s sister who was also in detention, received a release order.
All three were detained on Wednesday evening, 10 Tir (June 1), by government forces that entered the individuals’ private home and seized all electronic devices, including their mobile phones and laptops. Seema, Sepideh’s sister, was also detained on the same day.
Hojjat Kermani, the lawyer for these three people, announced that, “They were released unconditionally.”
Despite the release of these three people, no information has been published about the reasons for their detention.
Hooman Jowkar, the former manager of the “Asian Cheetah Conservation” project, and his wife Sepideh Kashani Dost had previously also been detained and had faced legal and judicial برخوردها due to their activities.
