Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: The Iraqi prime minister’s visit to Iran is a very important trip.
We welcome him and his delegation from now on, and we are confident that this visit can mark a turning point in the growing trend of relations between the two Muslim and neighboring countries.
We have been in contact with Oman for some time now—since the very first days after the establishment of the ceasefire on Farvardin 19 and 20—and we consulted with them.
Our effort has been, with Oman’s cooperation as two coastal states, to be able to take the necessary measures and develop the necessary mechanisms.
We still believe that this should be carried out through joint cooperation and consultation between the two coastal states. That, regarding the Strait of Hormuz, we are determined to definitely assert our interests and sovereignty ✅
