Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: If you expect your diplomats to leave the scene out of fear that the enemy is deceptive, they will definitely not do so. The enemy is deceptive, it uses tricks, and it is savage, but it is like saying that those who sit by the launcher and defend Iran should leave the scene out of fear that the other side has access to technology.
Diplomacy and defense are two wings. If, for any reason, either one cannot carry out its duty in defending Iran, then certainly our governance’s duty will not be fulfilled properly.
To the same extent that you take pride in and support the homeland defenders at the launchers, your diplomats are equally deserving of support and defense, because diplomats fight alongside homeland defenders for a single goal.
Insisting on a dichotomy of negotiation or war, diplomacy or war is not beneficial for our country.
Thinking that diplomacy negates defense, or that defense is not compatible with diplomacy, is in no way a correct logic.
What Seyyed Abbas does is the same as what Seyyed Majid does, with one goal.
The goal is to safeguard Iran’s national interests. Sometimes with the defense tool, sometimes with diplomacy, and sometimes with both at the same time.
