Faryba Asadi, a civil activist and one of those detained in the protests of Dey 1404, was tried on Monday, 16 Shahrivar, in Branch Two of the Revolutionary Court in Karaj.

Ms. Asadi is facing charges of “assembly and conspiracy,” “action against national security,” and participation in the protests—charges that the government has leveled against a protester who herself has been a victim of the violence of the suppressing forces.

According to HRANA, on 18 Dey, Islamic Republic agents severely injured Faryba Asadi’s eye by firing pellet bullets. A source close to the case says that a tear in the retina and paralysis of the eye nerve have destroyed about 85 percent of the vision in one of her eyes.

Ms. Asadi was arrested by the IRGC Intelligence on 6 Bahman, and during the three months of detention she was deprived of proper medical treatment. She was ultimately released on a heavy bail of three billion tomans.
