🔺Energy Agency: Continued Growth in Energy Investment in the Middle East Despite War
▪The International Energy Agency says it expects investment in the Middle East energy sector, despite the war in the region, to continue its upward trend.
▪According to this report, this year about $195 billion will be invested in the Middle East energy sector. These figures were released without calculating Iran, Syria, and Yemen, but the agency says the region’s energy investment is double the global average in relation to GDP.
▪The energy investment boom in the Middle East comes as Iran faces an ever-increasing shortfall of various types of energy and, according to an assessment by the International Monetary Fund, the debts of the Iranian government in the past year have risen to more than 35% of GDP.
