Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s foreign minister, met with his Emirati counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan during a trip to the UAE, where they discussed developments in the Middle East and ways to end tensions and ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Egypt’s foreign ministry, the two countries reiterated their condemnation of the repeated attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran on several Arab countries. Abdelatty said Egypt declares its full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and Gulf Arab countries and called these attacks an “obvious violation of their sovereignty and a serious threat to regional security.”

This position comes while the Islamic Republic in recent days has repeatedly targeted Arab countries, including Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, with drones and missiles, and these attacks have threatened the security of those countries. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claims it carried out attacks on U.S. military infrastructure in Arab countries.
