🔺Dozens of Violations of Women’s Rights Recorded Over One Month in Iran
▪A human rights organization, Hengaw, says that in August 2026, at least 20 women activists were arrested in Iran, and 26 women were also sentenced by judicial rulings, including execution and imprisonment.
▪Based on Hengaw’s report, at least 19 cases of femicide were recorded in this period in different cities across Iran, and the death sentence of six women was carried out in the prisons of the Islamic Republic.
▪According to statistics from Hengaw’s Center for Statistics and Documentation, at least 20 female activists were arrested in August by suppression institutions in the Islamic Republic. This figure accounts for about 17% of all recorded arrests in that month.
