🔶 Death sentence issued for Mojtaba Dehbani and Kianoush Hamzeai, two detainees in the protests of Dey

According to a report by the Iran Human Rights organization, the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz has issued a death sentence for two detainees named Mojtaba Dehbani and Kianoush Hamzeai Kazaruni on charges of “enmity through arson of public places and burning the Quran, as well as action against national security through sheltering protesters during the protests of Dey.”

According to this report, the initial ruling was issued for the 23-year-old Mojtaba Dehbani and the 27-year-old Kianoush Hamzeai Kazaruni two months ago, and they are now being held in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.

A source familiar with the case told Iran Human Rights: “Mojtaba and his brother were curtain sellers and Kianoush was a jute seller. They had taken several injured protesters into their shop for treatment. Security forces identified them using footage from the shop’s closed-circuit cameras and arrested Mojtaba and Kianoush at their homes eight days later. Four injured protesters who were still inside the shop were also arrested.”
