China’s LNG imports by sea increased in June for the second consecutive month.
Based on a Bloomberg report citing China customs data, the imports rose 8.3% year-on-year to 5.68 million tons. The world’s biggest buyer of gas has increased its purchases to meet a surge in summer demand.
The Persian Gulf typically supplies about a third of China’s LNG, but based on ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg, reduced shipments from the region were offset by higher exports from Malaysia, Russia and Canada.
