🔻BBC investigations show that human trafficking groups that transfer migrants to Britain via the Channel illegally are facing a shortage of small boats.

According to members of these gangs, rival groups have now been forced to cooperate with one another and move migrants in larger boats.

They are also charging more from the migrants.

At present, the number of migrants who have crossed the Channel and entered Britain has fallen to the lowest level in the past six years, and British government ministers attribute this decline to the efforts of the French police to stop and track the boats.

James Waterhouse, a BBC reporter in Paris, says in a report that these boats—known as “taxi boats”—transport illegal migrants across the Channel to Britain several times a day.
