Political analyst Najat Behrami said that Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip to Washington and the information and new data that may be provided to Donald Trump—along with what he described as Trump’s despair and helplessness in recent days—still point to the possibility of a serious confrontation and a broad war. According to him, the main question is whether the two sides can control events until their elections in November or whether they will move into direct confrontation before that. He added that the main goal of the Islamic Republic is to buy time and avert the danger of a major confrontation.
