🔶 Amnesty International: Officials of the Islamic Republic must be prosecuted
🔻A report by Amir Sultanzadeh
Amnesty International, on the fourth anniversary of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement, has published a report of more than a thousand pages and says that the crackdown on the 1401 protests was the result of decisions and official structures of the government. The organization calls for criminal prosecution of the officials responsible.
Four years after the death of Mahsa Amini and the start of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement, Amnesty International has again brought the case of the suppression of the 1401 protests to the level of criminal accountability. The organization’s new report is not just another account of street violence, but an effort to show how the crackdown emerged from within the Islamic Republic’s official institutions, a chain of command, security decisions, and the judicial system.
