Alireza Nouri-Zadeh, writer and journalist, said that after the heavy blow to Hezbollah, the Islamic Republic has tried to maintain its regional pressure by strengthening the Houthis, and that this could lead to the expansion of the war in Yemen.
He added that the Islamic Republic, by dispatching members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, training the Houthi forces, and transferring drone and missile parts to Yemen, has played an important role in preserving the group’s military capabilities. According to Nouri-Zadeh, the Houthis are still trying to maintain control over strategic areas and routes leading to the Bab al-Mandab, and the intensification of clashes could further threaten the security of shipping in this waterway.
