مرتضی کاظمیان, a member of the editorial board of Iran International, in response to Mohammadreza Bahonar’s remarks about the definition of “total war” said that anyone who carries the title of a member of the Expediency Council defines a serious war as one in which Tehran or Isfahan are bombed.
He added that this view shows that the rulers of the Islamic Republic do not consider Iranian citizens equal, and that attacks on southern cities and other parts of the country are not treated as a serious war.
