A member of Iran’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission claimed: «Now is the time for Iran to build a nuclear bomb, because it has already paid enough of the costs.»
Ahmad Bakhshayeshe Ardestani, on Tuesday, 23 Tir, said in an interview with IRNA that if the Islamic Republic were to build nuclear weapons, world consensus against Tehran would not form, claiming: «This consensus already exists. So there’s one plea one time, and one wailing as well.»
Previously, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has repeatedly stated that he will not allow the Islamic Republic to obtain atomic weapons.
The Islamic Republic has not yet delivered or destroyed its stocks of highly enriched uranium, and the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency has previously stated that much of the Islamic Republic’s highly enriched uranium is most likely still at Iran’s Natanz nuclear complex.
Rafael Grossi added: «If [Iran’s regime] decides, it can build up to 10 nuclear bombs with this stockpile.»
