🔶 European Union Aviation Safety Agency extends flight warning status in the Persian Gulf The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) extended the flight warning status over airspace in areas involved in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf until July 8 (July 17). The decision by this body was made following the publication of reports about the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ missile attack on two commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as continued concerns regarding the security of shipping and flights in this region. Earlier, on Wednesday, July 1 (10 Tir), the agency had advised airlines to continue avoiding flights over the airspace of Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon, and to act cautiously across the region given the ongoing uncertainty about the durability of the ceasefire and the possibility of rapid escalation of tensions. In a statement, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency said that despite the ceasefire being in place, the risk of fighting resuming still exists, and security conditions in the region could change quickly.
