Zeinab Jalalian, Wariesheh Moradi, Sakineh Parvaneh and Mataleb Ahmadian, four political prisoners held in Evin and Yazd prisons, said that on Wednesday, 25 Shahrivar, they will go on a hunger strike in support of the general strike call in Kurdistan.
According to several Kurdish human-rights organizations, these four Kurdish political prisoners, in a message, described the strike as “the most civil form of expressing protest” and said that on the anniversary of the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini and the uprising “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi,” they will join the general strike.
The Center of the Coalition of Kurdish Parties in Iran had previously, by publishing a call, urged the holding of a general strike in Kurdistan on Wednesday, 25 Shahrivar.
Following the publication of this call, a number of parties, organizations and political and civil groups, including the Comprehensive Solidarity for Freedom and Equality in Iran, the National Congress of Federalities in Iran, the Iran Left Party, the Christian Democratic Party of Iran, the Iranian Workers’ Communist Party, the Solidarity Network for Human Rights in Iran and a number of other groups, announced their support for this strike.
