The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that on September 4, American forces targeted three Iranian oil tankers after ballistic missiles fired by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) at two US aircraft carriers.
According to CENTCOM, in the attack on an aircraft carrier and a guided-missile destroyer, no American forces were harmed.
CENTCOM said the oil tanker “Daeony” near Khark Island and “Stark 1” near Jask stopped working, and the empty oil tanker “Kailo” in the Sea of Oman was completely destroyed after the crew was evacuated.
Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander, said: “If you fire at our two ships, we will impose even greater economic costs on you, and we will destroy your three ships.”
