The UN Security Council is voting on extending the mandate of the panel of experts monitoring sanctions of the Islamic Republic.

The draft resolution was submitted by the United States, and disagreements over the validity of the “snapback” mechanism and sanctions related to Iran have led Russia and China to oppose this move.
