🔻UK Defense Secretary: We should not be intimidated by Iran’s saber-rattling

The UK’s defense minister said that Britain should not be intimidated by Iran’s saber-rattling.

Wall Streeting told the BBC that Britain should not give “too much” importance to Iran’s statements: “We are prepared to respond to any attack by Iran on us or our allies, and we will continue to maintain that readiness.”

The British government says it has allowed the United States to use its bases in “defensive” operations that host U.S. forces and aircraft.

In response to the question of whether Iran has the capability to attack Britain, Mr. Streeting said that “we should not give too much weight to Iran’s saber-rattling” and that “absolutely we should not be intimidated by what it says.”

He emphasized that “we have not joined and will not join offensive U.S. military action against Iran.”

“This is an area where we have not been aligned with the United States, but when it comes to preserving freedom of navigation and the free movement of commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, we are completely aligned.”

In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps wrote that “with the depletion of missile stocks” at the beginning of Amordad, the United States has turned to “B-1 aircraft operating from the RAF Fairford air base in England,” and that “as foreign ministry officials also stated, any base used to carry out an attack on Iranian soil is a legitimate target for us.”
