U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Saturday, September 14, 1405, that U.S. forces, in response to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ ballistic missile launches toward two U.S. Navy warships, targeted three oil tankers carrying Iranian crude oil.

In a statement, CENTCOM said an American aircraft carrier and a guided-missile destroyer were able to get through several Iranian attacks, and none of the U.S. forces were harmed.

Based on the statement, after the Iranian attacks failed, U.S. forces permanently disabled two oil tankers linked to the IRGC, including the tanker “M/T Downy” near Kharg Island and “M/T Stark 1” near Jask.

CENTCOM also said the oil tanker, “M/T Kylo,” which is also known as “Noxen,” was completely destroyed in the Sea of Oman. According to U.S. Central Command, the ship was targeted after its crew received orders to abandon the tanker, and U.S. forces struck several critical points of the ship to prevent it from being able to operate again.
