U.S. airstrike on two cities in Iran’s Lorestan province; telecoms reports widespread disruption to communications infrastructure
Following U.S. airstrikes on two cities—Visian and Changī—in Lorestan province, the telecoms authority in the province said that, due to widespread technical disruption in infrastructure equipment, the landline and mobile phone networks in the Visian area and in Moomenan county have been completely cut.
According to a formal statement from the Lorestan regional telecoms company, telephone communications in the Visian area will return to normal by Saturday evening, but restoring the mobile and landline network in Moomenan county will require more time due to the extent of damage, and will be restored no later than tomorrow afternoon.
Iranian state news agencies had reported, late Friday night, an airstrike on cities in Lorestan province.
