Trump said that interest rates in the United States should be brought down to 1% or less, and claimed that the country has “the best credit in the world” and is thriving with the inflow of new investments.

He also said that if the United States were to stop trading with countries that run trade deficits against it, it would earn at least $1.5 trillion per year.

Trump equated the trade deficit with “loss,” and again called for a rapid reduction of interest rates in the United States.
