— The Washington Post: After CIA chief John Ratcliffe’s trip to Moscow failed to change the Kremlin’s position, Russia increased its missile and drone attacks on Ukraine.

U.S. officials warned that Russia’s stance would become harder and called for negotiations; however, according to sources familiar with the matter, Putin has interpreted these efforts as a sign of U.S. weakness, not as pressure to reach a compromise.

It appears that Putin still believes that the passage of time is in Russia’s favor.
