The U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of this country in Dubai have canceled their consular appointments from July 13 to July 15, corresponding to July 22 to July 24, as a result of the security situation in the region, the latest sign of the impact of the war on U.S. diplomatic activity in the Persian Gulf.
In the security alert issued by the U.S. mission in the UAE, it says American citizens who have appointments scheduled in these days should not go to the embassy or consulate, and they will be contacted to arrange a new appointment. Both missions remain under an ordered departure status, and non-essential U.S. government staff left the UAE earlier.
Normal U.S. visa services in the UAE have also been suspended in advance until further notice. The decision was announced at the same time as the Islamic Republic of Iran’s missile attack on two Emirati oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and the resumption of retaliatory attacks.
