The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain discussed regional and international issues, including the Strait of Hormuz, during a phone call.
In the course of the conversation, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain’s foreign minister, and Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates, discussed and exchanged views on diplomatic efforts aimed at increasing security and stability in the region and ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Also during this call, Bahrain’s foreign minister spoke about regional and international issues brought before the United Nations Security Council.
Bahrain is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, and in recent months on several occasions has asked the Council to respond firmly to attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against regional countries, including Bahrain.
