🔸 The European Union, NATO, and Gulf countries condemned Iran’s attack on Bahrain and Kuwait
The European Union, NATO, and Gulf countries condemned Iran’s attack on Bahrain and Kuwait and urged Iran to remain committed to its obligations under the memorandum of understanding.
Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, wrote in a message on the X network that military confrontations between the United States and Iran have further complicated difficult negotiations to end the war, and that Iran’s attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait are unacceptable.
Kallas further emphasized in her message that, based on the memorandum of understanding, Tehran had committed to reopening the Strait of Hormuz to shipping. Iran’s recent attacks on ships near this waterway are considered a breach of this commitment and increase the risk of renewed disruption to energy supplies.
The EU foreign policy chief requested that “the freedom of shipping must be guaranteed without any restrictions.”
