The CEO of the Stationery Union reported a significant rise in the price of paper and stationery on the eve of schools reopening, and said: The price of paper has increased by more than 300%, which has noticeably raised the cost of producing notebooks.
Mehdi Kalantari, in an interview with the media “Didehban Iran,” said that the increase in the price of stationery compared to last year is at least 50%, and added: In some items, this price increase reaches 200%.
He announced that part of the country’s needs is supplied through domestic production and another part through imports, with the main share of imports belonging to China.
The CEO of the Stationery Union, noting that it is still not clear whether the new academic year will be held in person or online, said: Under these conditions, producers cannot make an accurate estimate of the market’s needs, and families have also postponed their purchases.
